The National March for Life on Parliament Hill

A scaled-down rally and March for Life will be taking place in-person on Parliament Hill on Thursday, May 13.

Despite COVID-19 and related restrictions, we do still have a constitutional right to peacefully demonstrate, as delineated in our Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Given both the urgency and importance of addressing the human rights injustices of abortion and euthanasia, we are choosing to exercise this right in as safe and prudential a manner as possible.

The Schedule (tentative as the length of the rally/march may change):

12:30 pm EDT: Rally begins

1:15 pm EDT: March begins

2:00 pm EDT: Return to Parliament Hill for Silent No More Awareness Testimonies

As always, the sole focus of our event will be to demand legal protection for every human being from conception to natural death—a pressing need that is in no way overridden by a pandemic. COVID-19 has not diminished the criticality of our message, but heightened it. You can read our entire statement explaining our position here.

However, please be advised of both the legal and health risks associated with attending the National March for Life in Ottawa. We will do our best to mitigate those risks, but every attendee must assess what level of risk they are personally willing to assume.

If you do decide to attend the rally and March for Life, please act respectfully and responsibly, and follow all relevant health measures, outlined here, under “Stop the spread”: https://covid-19.ontario.ca/zones-and-restrictions. This request is made for your own sake, the sake of fellow attendees (some of whom may be elderly), and the sake of the organizers, namely Campaign Life Coalition, and our ability to hold future marches.

If you will not be attending the rally and March for Life, rest assured that the event will be filmed, and you will be able to watch it either live or at a later time.

You can still join us in raising awareness in your family and community. Put up signs in your house and car windows, flood the airwaves and online platforms with pro-life messaging, wear pro-life T-shirts, do some pro-life sidewalk chalking, and share the message of this year’s theme—You Are Not Alone—with those who need to hear it.

Please check this page regularly for updates leading up to and on Thursday, May 13.
